Cosmic Musings

This morning, during my run, I found myself wondering about peace. We often talk about peace on earth as though it’s something vast and far away, an unreachable collective agreement. But what if peace begins not out there, but within us? As the rhythm of my steps steadied my thoughts, I asked myself: what does my peace feel like?

It wasn’t silence or absence of movement. It was a presence, an ease in my breath, the cool air meeting warm skin, the knowing that I didn’t have to fight the moment to be in it. That’s when it struck me: peace is not something I chase, but something I carry.

The more I thought, the more I realized peace could be like currency. If I invest in it daily, if I honor it as something of worth, then over time it accrues value, not just for me, but for everyone I touch. Just like money can ripple outward into the world, so can our inner calm, our steadiness, our refusal to let chaos dictate who we are.

Moon in Cancer reminds us that care is a power, not a weakness. If I can find my inner sanctuary, I can extend it to my family, to my child, to strangers even. Peace multiplies. And in that multiplication, the dream of peace on earth begins to take root.

I know how easy it is to forget this. To think peace has to wait until everything outside is calm. But today’s run reminded me that the opposite is true, it is precisely within the storm that we need to anchor into peace. Otherwise, we’ll always be waiting for conditions that never fully come.

So maybe the question isn’t “how do we create peace in the world?” but rather “what does my peace feel like, and how can I cultivate more of it right now?”

The Moon in Cancer whispers that the most radical offering we can make to life is our own steadiness of heart.
