This morning I found myself thinking about the many versions of me that exist at the same time. The woman. The mother. The friend. The daughter. And honestly, there are versions of myself I don’t always like. Reactions I wish I didn’t have. Emotions that feel messy, uncomfortable, or hard to explain.

There are parts of me I’d rather keep hidden, even from myself. But today, under this Cancer New Moon, something softened. I realized how lucky I am that these parts are visible, that they surface instead of staying buried.

Because when they rise, they give me a chance. A chance to look deeper. To ask what’s behind the anger, the judgment, the defensiveness. To listen instead of suppressing. To respond differently instead of repeating old patterns.

The more clearly I recognize these versions of myself, the quicker the invitation arrives: Do you want to choose another way right now? And sometimes I do. Sometimes I don’t. But the awareness itself is already growth.

This New Moon reminds us that we are not meant to be flawless. We are meant to be honest. We are both a work in progress and a living miracle, unfolding at the same time.

Cancer teaches that care is not perfection. Care is staying. Staying with ourselves even when it’s uncomfortable. Staying curious instead of critical. Staying gentle when we want to shut down.

So today, I’m choosing grace. Not as an excuse, but as a commitment. A commitment to keep trying, to keep showing up, to keep learning how to love myself (and others) a little better each time.
